Two Simple Things You Can Do to Make Your Garden Look Great

When I discovered that I love gardening, I have to say... it really took me by surprise. I am a bookish person by nature and would almost always rather read a novel than do anything outside, but gardening somehow is different. It is relaxing and interesting all at the same time.

As you can imagine, I've learned quite a bit about gardening over the years, and I've discovered a couple of techniques that really make your garden stand out.

#1. Plant your perennial flowers in groups.

I know this may seem obvious, but it is often overlooked. When you plant your flowers in large groupings. Say 3 to 5 of the same plant you create a stunning visual effect. Your plants will just look better because they are so eye catching.

When using this technique be sure to stagger your bloom times and put the larger plants toward the back of your bed so that your garden always looks nice.

#2. Use hardscaping.

Hardscaping is simply everything in your garden that is not a plant. Using decorative pots, statues, fountains, and fencing can be a very effective way to make your garden stand out.

A single (or double) panel of 4 foot fencing can be a very effective backdrop to colorful flowers or lush greenery. It can give your garden structure and interest, even in the winter time.

When you are using hardscaping in your garden be careful to use restraint. While it can make a huge impact, too much can be too much.

Click here for FREE information on using Decorative Garden Fencing to make your garden stand out.

Click here to go to the Garden Fencing Site

Happy Gardening!
